All in a Week for Alumnae – From Solo Exhibitions to Front Covers

This week is proving busy for three Falmouth graduates. Frederica Scott Vollrath’s work is going global thanks to winning the World Standards Cooperation poster competition, photographer Jemima Marriott’s striking images take the cover of the inaugural Exalt magazine, while international artist Louise Thomas’ second solo show opens on Friday.

3D Design luminary Frederica Scott Vollrath has been awarded first prize in the annual World Standards Cooperation (WSC) international poster competition. The poster will form a central part of World Standards Day 2013 celebrations across the globe this October.

Freelance Berlin-based designer, Frederica Scott Vollrath graduated from Falmouth in 2011 with a BA(Hons) in 3D Design. Her entry answered this year’s theme, ‘International standards ensure positive change’, and saw her collect the first prize of 1,500 Swiss Francs.

Meanwhile, photography alumna Jemima Marriott’s striking images can be seen both on and inside the covers of fashion titles, Exalt and Fault. Her recent fashion editorial graces the cover of the inaugural Exalt magazine, an international fashion and beauty quarterly, and appears in high fashion title, Fault.

Jemima, who graduated in 2009 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Photography, specialises in editorial photography and is a regular contributor to titles both in the UK and overseas.

Finally, Friday 5 July presents the opening of Louise Thomas’ second solo exhibition. Louise graduated in 2007 with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art and has since won the Ferdynand Zweig Scholarship, completed an NES Artist residency in Icelands and a Florence Trust residency in Islington.

Signed to Bischoff Weiss, her latest show Artifice of Paradise runs from Friday 5July until Friday 2 August at the Weiss gallery in Mayfair, London. For more information about her work, visit the Bischoff Weiss website.
